The course is both interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary, as students will understand how different disciplines approach global problems and questions, as well as how different disciplines connect with one another or contradict one another in terms of methods and goals. The course will introduce students to major issues in world affairs including poverty, population, environment, armed conflicts, international law and organizations, transnational crime and disease, and processes of globalization in a variety of forms. The main course objective is to provide students with an understanding of the intellectual, cultural, political, and economic issues that mark the contemporary processes of globalization.
